Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!  I managed to get this card created today.  The puppy really likes attention and everyone in my house was doing their own thing.  But I squeezed this in!

I can't wait for 2011!!  I'm sure it will be even better than last year!  My crafting goal for 2010 was to make a scrapbook page a week.  That did not happen--LOL!  But I will get back to scrapping in 2011.  I just love to make cards now too :)

Here are the details for my card:
  • Celebrate with a Flourish hat/clock cut at 3 1/2 inches
  • My Pink Stamper Happiest Moments stamp
  • Bazzill cardstock (base card is 5 x 5 inches)
  • Patterned paper
  • Black Ribbon and Gold cording
  • iRock black gems
  • Black Diamond and Frosted Lace Stickles
  • pop dots between layers
The picutre isn't the best, but the cardstock is a gold color.  This looks to much better in person!  I'll see if I can get a good daylight picture on New Years Day (but it's supposed to rain :( )and replace this one.

I hope you have a fabulous New Year's Eve.  My daughter is at a friend's house and my son has a friend over, so it won't be as quiet as I thought it would be :)

Craft Junkie Too Design Team Day

Hi everyone!  This project is for my Craft Junkie Too Design Team post.  We needed to make a Christmas project this week.  I made a tag that is super simple to make.  I used Tags, Bags, Boxes and More and cut this tag and shadow at 4 1/2 inches.  I used my Gyspy so I erased the slit that was there and used my own hole punch after I glued them together.  Then I used a 3D santa sticker (that came with the stars) from Recollections that I received last week.  To finish it off, I used some twine from The Twinery and My Pink Stamper stamps for the To:/From.

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!!  We start our round of family dinners today and I get my mini cake--I'm so excited!!

Puppy News, Winners and Questions answered

Hi everyone!  It's been crazy busy here at my house.  We're all off school and work right now so you think things would be quiet.  But, we got a new puppy on Saturday!  She'll be 12 weeks old on Thursday and life is just crazy now!  But she's so adorable :)  She's a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel mixed with Bijon Frise.  Here's a picture:

I was going to draw a winner tomorrow from the Cricut Crawl, but decided to do it today!  Plus, I hit over 400 followers--thank you!--and decided to draw a second winner!  I picked up a 12x12 Nana's Kitchen Stack for my second winner.  I'll probably do another giveaway after the 1st of the year--my life is just crazy now to do shopping for a big giveway.

Now--on to the winners!

The winner of the Gingerbread Cartridge is:

Love it! I really like the frosted look on the glass block. It set the tone for your whole project. TFS!
Christel

I'll try to contact you both, but try to email me at the contact on the right.

I did have a few questions about the blocks.  Someone asked how the lights went in.  Well, I buy the blocks with a hole already in them from Hobby Lobby and it has a cap on one side which I make the bottom.  My husband cuts a slit in so the light cord sticks out o.k.  Here's a picture:
And I was also asked what I used for the cuts.  It's vinyl.  I had purchased this vinyl a few years ago and just now got around to using it.  But Cricut has vinyl and at Hobby Lobby, there was another brand of vinyl near the cricut set up.  There's ton to choose from!

I have a DT post tomorrow and then I probably won't blog the rest of the week.  I'm getting a Cake Mini tomorrow, but then Thursday I'm taking my daughter to a Justin Bieber concert--please pray that I can hear on Friday after being around the screaming girls--LOL!

Have a very Merry Christmas!

Glass Block #2

Hi everyone!!  Don't forget the Fantabulous Cricut Crawl is going on all week!  Make sure to play along and enter to win at FCCB.

Here's another glass block I made for "Deck the Halls".  Yesterday's is for my daughter and this one is in my kitchen.  I LOVE to decorate for Christmas.  And I also love colored lights.  So when I went to Hobby Lobby to get another set, I was thrilled to see that they had a strand of 35 in colored.  It was perfect for this project.  Now, they are on green wires, where the white one have white cords which you can't see.  But, since I made a tree, I thought it would be o.k.

I used Winter Frolic for the tree and ornaments and cut them at 4 inches.  I also cut out extra ornaments to put around the tree.  The ribbon was also purchased at Hobby Lobby.  I just love this one lit up!!  These are so easy to make so I hope you try it and let me know so I can visit your blogs to see :)

Don't forget to enter for my blog candy here.  I'm so close to 400 followers so I just might have to find something else to give away too!!!

Fantabulous Cricut "Deck the Halls" Crawl!

Welcome to Crafting Cricut Mom and the third Fantabulous Cricut Crawl...Fantabulous Cricut's version of a blog hop! This is my 1st time in a blog hop and I'm so excited you've joined us and stopped by my blog!!

In honor of the approaching Christmas holiday, we're having a "Deck The Halls" Crawl...each Design Team member will be featuring an original Christmas/Holiday-themed project that could be used to decorate and spruce up their homes for the Holiday Season!

If you've come from visiting Erin at SpantastiKreations you're in the right place! If you've just happened across my blog and would like to play along with our Fantabulous Cricut Crawl, start HERE.

Make sure to check out each DT member's blog for some awesome inspiration! There will be PRIZES along the way at our DT members' blogs, AND there will be a Grand Prize up for grabs at FCCB for one participant that submits a "Deck The Halls" project at FCCB!

How fun is that?

For my project, I've made a glass block light.  I've made these before as gifts, but never made one for my own house.  This one will go in my daughter's room since she loves penguins.  But I have another to show you tomorrow that will stay in my kitchen!  It's a great way to "Deck the Halls"!

Here's a picture of the block all lit up.

I used Create a Critter for the penguin and cut him at 4 inches.  I used black, white, red and yellow vinyl for him.  The snowflakes came from Joys of the Season and are cut at 1 inch each.  I just hand cut a 'snow mound' for the penguin to stand on. The glass block came from Hobby Lobby and so did the 35 strand of lights that are inside.

I used Krylon Frosted Glass spray on the blocks before applying my vinyl.  And I finished it off with very glittery snowflake wired ribbon.  These are so super easy to make and are great gifts and decorating items!

I do have some Cricut Crawl Candy for you!  Up for grabs is a brand new in the package Cricut Gingerbread Cartridge!!  For your chance to win, please leave one comment and be a follower of my blog.  I will close entries on Sunday night and announce the winner on Wednesday, December 22 when the winner at FCCB will be announced as well.

Now it's your turn! Let's see your Christmas/Holiday-Themed Decor projects! Make sure to include a Cricut cut somewhere on your project and enter at FCCB!

Next stop is Jamie's blog at Cute Cards and Crafts by Jamie. Go see what she has in store for you today... And when you're done, make sure to link up your project to FCCB's Fantabulous Cricut Crawl post to be entered into the contest!

Happy Crawling!

Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge #42

Here's a quick gift and a challenge entry!  Peachy Keen is having an embossing challenge.  You can use heat or dry embossing and I chose dry.

I bought an assortment of coffee packs from my son's fundraiser to give to teachers for Christmas.  I thought they were individual single cup packs, but there are 12 packages that each make a pot of coffee.  No wonder the price was higher than I though it should be--LOL!  I don't drink coffee (gasp!) so really had no idea!

Here's the details:
  • Snow Much Love Peachy Keen Stamp
  • Emboss strip of cardstock with Snowflake Cuttlebug folder
  • Colored pencils and blender pen
  • Christmas Red Stickles
  • Circle punch for tag
  • My Pink Stamper Christmas Wishes and Winter Punnies Stamps
  • Twine from The Twinery
I have to make at least 8 more of these and since I don't drink coffee, I might as well give the others away at work.

Make sure to stop back on Monday to join the Fantabulous Cricut Crawl!  We're all showing some Deck the Halls items that we've made.  And they'll be plenty of prizes--I have something pretty fun to give away too :)

Craft Junkie Too Organization

For our Design Team project for Craft Junkie Too, we were to give organziation tips.  I wish I had some for you--LOL!  I started out making a Christmas Card Holder, but with a 12 x 12 mat, it wasn't big engough for that.  So now it's a picture holder for all those pictures you get in your Christmas cards!

Here are the details:
  • Santa's Sleigh cut at 10 1/2 inches in cardboard and then all the layers in cardstock from Jolly Holidays
  • Another top sleigh cut at 10 3/4 inches to make an opening to put the pictures in
  • Winter Wishes cut at 2 3/4 inches from Jolly Holidays
  • Stickles
  • Twine from The Twinery
  • Green Ribbon
This actually went together pretty easy.  I think if I had a 12 x 24 mat, this would work for cards.  Guess I'll have to get one and try it out!

Make sure to go over to Craft Junkie Too and see the rest of the DT's Organization tips & tricks!!

Merry & Bright

I made this card while I was waiting for inspiration for a Design Team project--LOL!  You can see what I came up with for that on Wednesday for Craft Junkie Too's DT day.

I still have not decided on my Christmas cards, but will use the ones I've made so far.  This one just wouldn't be good to mass produce.

Here are the details:
  • Reindeer cut at 4 inches from Jolly Holidays
  • My Pink Stamper Christmas Wishes stamp
  • Hot Off the Press paper (I've had this forever)
  • Christmas Red Stickles
  • iRock gems
  • green ribbon
This was so super easy to put together!

Christmas Wish

Hi everyone!  I had so much fun with this card!  I used Jolly Holidays for the boy on the unicycle and used an Action Wobble!!  I had this idea in my head all week and finally had time to do it.  I was lucky enough to get a sample pack of these and this is the 1st I've used.  This card is so cute in person when you make it wobble!! Here are the details:
  • Jolly Holidays boy/unicycle cut at 4 1/2 (I think, my Gypsy is not with me)
  • Action Wobble
  • Peachy Keen Basic Paper Doll Assortment Face Stamp
  • My Pink Stamper Christmas Wishes stamp
  • Black Diamond and Icicle Stickles
  • EK Success Edge Punch
  • American Crafts Ribbon
  • White Signo Pen and Pink marker
I have some more ideas for cards with Jolly Holidays I hope to make this weekend.  Plus, I really need to make my Christmas cards!

An I Rocked Stocking

I'm in a stocking swap on the Circle Message board.  I've never participated in a swap like this before, but it was really fun to shop for someone else that enjoys the same things I do!  My person should have her package  by today, so I think it's o.k. to show what I did to the stocking.   I probably should have taken the picture empty, but it's got some stuff in it!

I just bought a plain stocking and decided to put her initial on it with my i Rock.  I looked up some fonts on the internet and free handed the design.   You need to put something firm in the stocking or it won't work.  I cut a piece of cardboard from a box and slid it in.  It did take a bit of time, but I think it turned out pretty good!  Now my daughter wants one :)  I might buy a small one so the letter won't have to be so big!!

Jingle all the Way

Hi everyone!  I'm trying to get back to regular posting.  I avoid Black Friday shopping--it just sounds a bit scary out there!  But, I ventured out on Saturday and went to Walmart for some food shopping.  I just had to go to the craft isle (it is near the food now).  I saw one green Expression and some Four legged friends on a hook and a few in a pile on top of the Expression.  At the bottom was a Jolly Holidays!!!  I just had to have it, and luckily I still had some cash I could use.

I LOVE this cartridge!  I have four more designs in my Gyspy I'm going to try to cut out this week.  Plus, I have no Christmas cards except for this one.  And this is Pink.  But my daughter thinks I could send these out if I make a bunch.  We'll see!

Here are the details:
  • Stocking cut from Jolly Holidays at 4 inches
  • My Pink Stamper Christmas Wishes stamp
  • K & Company Paper
  • i Rock Hot Rocks
  • Pink Pen
  • Frosted Lace Stickles
  • Pink Ribbon
Thanks for stopping by!

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #38

Hi everyone!  It sure was hard to go back to work today.  If you look on the sidebar at the top, you'll see that we're having a Fantabulous Cricut Crawl on December 13th--the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge version of a blog hop!  This will be my 1st ever blog hop--I've never been in one--and I'm super excited!!

Today I have my Design Team project.  We needed to use ribbon.  Well, that is so easy for me since I put ribbon on practically everything I make--LOL!  I do have to say that I was not feeling very crafting at the time of creation.

I used my new Your Story Photo to make this recipe book.  I found a package of recipe cards that were never opened and they fit perfectly in one of the 4 x 6 books.  1st, I used the Dvine Swirl Cuttlebug to emboss the cover.  Next. I put the package of recipe cards in and bound it.  (This is so super easy!)  I wrapped white ribbon a few times around and tied a bow.  The cuts are from My Kitchen at 2 inches each. And then I added some stickles!

Make sure to check out the Fantabulous Cricut Blog to see all the designers beautiful projects!

Catch up and Blog Award

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Sorry I've been MIA this week.  It has not been the best around here.  My husband got laid off last Saturday.  Then, we had to say goodbye to our 17 year old dog.  We had her before our kids were born and they've grown up always having her around.  It's been tough around here.

I'm trying to get back in the groove of creating and plus, I have not started making Christmas cards yet!

But, I did receive a blog award from these 3 ladies!!  How nice is that?!

Jen from The Purple Scrapbooker
Libby from Beach Creations
Paula from Rasberry and Lime Designs

Now, this award does come with some rules:

1. Thank and link back to the person who awarded you this
2. Share 8 things about yourself
3. Pay it forward to 8 bloggers that you have recently discovered
4. Contact those bloggers and tell them about their awards

Here are 8 Things about me:

1.  I have 2 children ages 13 & 11.
2.  I LOVE my Cricut and Gypsy.
3.  I'm getting a Mini Cake for Christmas!!
4.  I love to read.
5.  I work full time.
6.  I am very crazy and got my daughter Justin Beiber tickets for December (I need earplugs for the screaming girls!)
7.  My son is now taller than me.
8.  I love hot chocolate with peppermint.

I'll have to pass on the award later.  Be sure to check back Monday for my Fantabulous Cricut Design Team post.  And I hope to have some cards to show you starting on Tuesday from the new Jolly Holidays Cricut Lite cartridge.  I went to Walmart on Saturday afternoon and found one of these and just had to have it!  (I do not do crazy Black Friday)

Your Story Photo -- Mini Album

Hey everyone!  I got my Your Story Photo on Friday and wanted to make something right away.  I think I'm going to love this machine!  Really, the thing that takes the longest is decorating and that's fun when you are not on a deadline :)  This is a gift for someone and I hope she likes it!!

So here's a few pictures.  I used Birthday Bash for the cover and a few cuts inside.  I didn't add too many.  Some of those Birthday Bash cuts have small pieces for the size I needed for the album.  The pictures aren't the best, but by the time I get home now, daylight is gone!

I just try to spend time with the kids and play games and eat cookies with them.  We have so much fun!

5. What games did you play with your family growing up?

We played board games like Life, Monoply and Parchesi.

6. What holiday tradition have you carried on from your own childhood?

Peachy Keen Mini Challenge

Here's a quick card for the Peachy Keen Mini Challenge.  The challenge was to use white as the main color, polka dots and Peachy Keen Face Stamps.

I used Winter Woodland for the snowflakes cut at 2 3/4 and 2 1/2 inches.  The faces are from peachy Keen Basic Paper Doll Face Assortment.  Snow Adorable is from My Pink Stamper Winter Punnies. I embossed the base with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder.  And I used American Crafts blue ribbon and my iRock!

Super simple :)

Craft Junkie Too Thankful For. . . .

Hi everone!  Today is Craft Junkie Too design team day :)  This week, we were to make a thankful project.  I chose to make a scrapbook page (or 2) of my family since they are what I am most thankful for.

  • Flower cut at 3 1/2 inches from Walk in My Garden
  • Tree cut at 5 inches from Paper Pups
  • KI Memories Family Time paper
  • i Rock Glam Rocks
  • White pen
  • Pop Dots
Fun and easy!  Now, head on over to Craft Junkie Too to see the wonderful projects the rest of the Design Team came up with.

What are you thankful for? :)

Good Luck Card

This card was my 1st commision!!  A professor who works in my department knows I make cards and requested a good luck card for a student who is going to be in a national pagent.  I was super nervous, I've never had a card request before!

Here are the details:
  • Tiara from Hannah Montana Cartridge cut 3 times at 3 inches
  • Shiny mirrored paper from The Paper Company for top layer of tiara
  • Coredinations Gemstones White Glove paper for other 2 layers
  • Coredinations Core Couture Blue Diamond paper for bottom layer (click to see it sparkles)
  • Die Cuts with a View for 2nd blue layer
  • Martha Stewart Loopy Edge punch set
  • Good Luck Stamp--not sure of maker
  • Silver embossing powder
  • Silver cording
  • Pop Dots for between layers
  • iRock Gems on the tiara
I have not stamped and embossing a long time and I just love the look!  But, I embossed after I put the cording on and it heated it and made it thin.  So I had to replace part of it.  So be careful!  The above picture shows the dimension of the tiara a bit of the bottom glittery paper.  I adhered the bottom tiara cut to the paper with Zip Dry Glue--that stuff is great!

The card was a hit--Yay!
