Acorn Hello

Hi everyone!  It's been a super busy August at my house.  My kids went back to school on the 4th and all their activities started pretty much right away.  And I work at a University and classes there started back this past Monday.  I think I worked about 48 hours over this past week and I am very glad it's over.

I am so glad I made time to make a card for the SVG Cutting Files monthly challenge though.  They have a Groot and Rocket (from Guardians of the Galaxy) file for entering and I needed them--LOL!  The challenge is to make anything with fall colors and be sure to use their files as the main focus.

Here's my Acorn Hello card--I am very happy with how it turned out!

Supplies used:

  • SVG Cutting Files Nutty Acorn
  • SVG Cutting Files Circle Trio Card Set--Large Scallop Card and layer
  • Totally Kraft Trendy Twine
  • DCWV Harvest Gathering Stack
  • My Creative Time Floral Sentiments stamp
  • Doodlebug Sequins
  • Frosted Lace Stickles
  • Pop Dots
I used a tiny bit of stickles for the cheeks and then pop dotted the acorn on the card.  Now that I have the Cricut Explore, I love cutting SVG's!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Wishing You a Great Year with Trendy Twine!

Hello everyone! It's my turn to post over at Twine It Up! with Trendy Twine today.  I made some cute little treat boxes for back to school.  My kids went back last Monday--I think that's way too early!  I'm also using the fabulous Cranberry Trendy Twine--a great color for those school projects.

I just LOVE all the cute mini boxes in the store.  They are just so fun!  You can find these 2x2x2 Kraft Boxes in a pack of 10 over at Annie's Paper Boutique. These are holding 3 mini Snickers each.  I might be able to fit a 4th in there, but then there would be less for me to eat :)

I wrapped my Cranberry Trendy Twine around the box a few times and tied a bow.  Then I glued some fun Doodlebug Sequins in all the corners.  To finish it off, I pop dotted a die cut apple stamped with the sentiment to the top.  These would be great for kids or teachers.

Be sure to visit the Trendy Blog for more great back to school projects and a close up of my apple.  And you can join the Twine It Up! with Trendy Twine Facebook page for more fun.

Have a fabulous day!

Trendy Twine Post Day--Smile!

Hi everyone!  I'm posting over at Twine It Up! With Trendy Twine today.  I have a super quick and easy card to show you using the Orangesicle Trendy Twine today.  I LOVE this twist!

I really wasn't sure what I wanted to make today so this is what came out.  I do love making the twine a focal point and this turned out fun.  The twine wanted to slip down, so I did tape it a lot on the back to hold it in place.

The die and stamp are from My Creative Time.  I die cut the Smile three times to give it a bit more dimension.  That pattern paper is from Echo Park Dots 6x6 paper pad and the pearls are Doodlebug Tangerine Mini Pearls.

Don't forget that all 6 original Trendy Twine Colors are on sale this month and you can even get a six pack mini of those too.  You can see lots of inspiration over at the Twine It Up! Facebook Page.  I hope to see you posting over there :)

Have a fabulous day!

Smile!

Hello again!  Today I have one of my favorite cards I made to submit that didn't get picked up--I was a bit sad about this one.  I am really loving the shaped cards and have a few more in mind that I'd love to make.

Items used:

  • Wild Card 2 Cricut Cartridge -- Hot Air Balloon card cut at 11 inches
  • Bazzill paper--Brown, Blue and Yellow
  • American Crafts paper--Pink and white
  • Ranger Frosted Lace Stickles
  • The Paper Studio Gemstones
  • My Pink Stamper stamp
  • Close to My Heart Ink
I used the stickles all around the edges of the cloud.  The clouds are actually on the base of the card which did confuse me a bit when I first cut it out.   This card did make me smile :)

Have a Happy Day!
