The Cuttlebug Spot Challenge Card

Gosh I have been a bit busy this last week. And I think I lost my mojo too so this is the 1st post in about a week. So I think my mojo might be back, but this is my only free creating time until Friday!

I made this card for the Cuttlebug Spot this week. You can check them out here: http://thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/ You must use embossing on it somewhere and I have been wanting to use the Happy Birthday folder that I had to have! Then you needed to use your favorite flower. I'm not sure if this is it, but it is from my favorite cartridge right now--Paisley! I cut them at 3, 2 1/2, and 2 inches each. It is a button feature from this cart. If you don't have it, it's awesome!! I just added some pink ribbon, a Studio G stamp in the big flower, pop dotted the flowers and of course, stickles!

Scrap It With a Song Layout

There's a new challenge blog that posted their 1st challenge this week called Scrap It With a Song--you can check them out here: http://scrapitwithasong.blogspot.com/ They give you a song, and you create something with the song, part of the song, or just whatever moves you. This week it's an Elton John song called Your Song. I just took part of one of the lines of the song How wonderful life is. . .

I scrapped this picture of my kids from 2001. The journaling talks about how great those days were when we didn't have to work or go to school--we could just play and have fun!!

I used Alphalicious for the words cut at 1 inch. The fireman hats and coat are from Everyday Paper Doll cut at 4 1/2 inches. I just used scraps except for the base cardstock.
Sorry the picture is a little fuzzy, I need to borrow the "good" camera again--LOL!

Frog Birthday

I've made a lot of cards lately, but none that say Happy Birthday! So I'm going to try to fix that this week. This one is the 1st frog on Paisley cut at 2 1/2 inches (can you tell I love this cartridge?!). I just used the same paper from the frog for the background and stamped some stars in versamark on the blue. That and the sentiment came from a TCP Studios package. Then I added some American Crafts yellow dotted ribbon. And I added some yellow stickles to the crown and some white pen to his belly.

Birthday Bowling

This sketch came from the Practical Scrappers blog. You can find them using this link: http://www.practicalscrappers.com/

I usually scrap 8 1/2 x 11 so I'm just not used to all this white space! I used the club from the caveman on Paper Doll Dress Up for the bowling pin, cut at 5 1/2 inches. I just had to use some black cardstock to the top. The bowling ball is a circle cut at 2 inches from George that I drew some holes on. The patterned paper is just from my stash that I've had forever!

Spring Challenge Blog Hop--Practical Scrappers

There's a great blog hop going on this week and it starts at Practical Scrappers http://www.practicalscrappers.com/ The challenge for this blog is to add glitter/bling (my favs!).

This is the ladybug I orginally cut out to go on yesterday's card, but I just went in crazy directions with both! It was cut at 2 1/2 inches from the Paisley cart. I added stickles to the dots here.

So I didn't know where to go with the ladybug, so I punched out some yellow circles with a Stampin' Up! punch and stamped the greeting and some flowers on them. I also stickled the flowers for more bling! I used some red yarn and red skittles.

This is definitely not my usual style!

Spring Challenge Blog Hop--The Cuttlebug Spot

So I started out making a completely different card. I cut a ladybug out and everything (You'll see what I did with that tomorrow!).
Since it changed direction, I decided this one would be good for The Cuttlebug Spot challenge this week. They are part of the Spring Challenge Blog Hop this week. You can visit them here: http://thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/
I ran most of the white carstock through the cuttlebug with the D'vine Swirl folder. Then I decided to put red stickles on the embosses swirls since the challenge was to add bling. It is much more sparkly in person! The stamp is from TCP Studios. I added the red ribbon and red skittles. But I wanted a little more bling so I added some clear gems to some of the swirls.
Not my usual kind of card!

Practical Scrappers Marker Challenge

I'm a little late on this one but wanted to post it anyway. Markers are not one of my favorites to work with, but I decided to step out of my comfort zone!

I don't know what the stamps are from, they've just been in my drawer for a long time! But I stamped and colored three with Stampin' Up! ink and markers then cut them out. I used my Paisley cart to cut out the flower power in 2 shades of pink at 2 inches. The paper is a light green (looks lighter in the picture) and I ran it through the Cuttlebug with the D'vine Swirl folder on the top half.

The ribbon is American Crafts. I added stickles to the flower centers and the words and pop dotted the flowers!

My Pink Stamper/Practical Scrappers Card

I started out making a card for the My Pink Stamper Saturday Challenge and then found that Practical Scrappers posted a new card sketch. I really do love card sketches so decided to do both.

For My Pink Stamper's challenge, you needed to use pink, green and black. So I used those colors and the sketch from Practical Scrappers.

I used pink cardstock for the base (5 1/2 square card) and added a pink polka dotted paper. I used Paisley for the frog and cut it out at 2 1/2 inches with a black shadow, green frog, pink middle and lighter pink heart. Then I used the same green and punched it with the MS Heart Doily edge punch and added a pink with black polka dotted ribbon. I finished it off with some stickles on the frog and some skittles for accents. Oh, and the stamp is from TCP Studios.

Graduation Card

I got this sketch from the Practical Scrappers blog. The cap is from Locker Talk and the ovals are from George. The stamps are TCP I picked up from Joanns and I found the ribbon at Archiver's. I was having trouble not getting any ink on the front so I just sponged the whole oval to cover it up!

This is one of my more simplier cards, but I do like the clean look of it; I hope my co-worker does!

Practical Scrappers Sketch

This sketch came from a sketch on the Practical Scrappers blog. You can check them out at this link: http://www.practicalscrappers.com/

I have always scrapped 8 1/2 x 11 and just have not switched. I decided to give it a try today with current pictures and love it! I still need to finish out a year in 8 1/2 though, but will probably start the 12 x 12 pages going forward.

I used Alphalicious for the title. The bunny and eggs came from Doodlecharms cut at 2 1/2 and 4 1/2 inches. I added stickles to the eggs. The eggs and butterfly at the top are some chipboard pieces I've had in a drawer for about a year!
Thanks for visiting!

More 2nd Birthday Pages

I made these pages 2 weeks ago, just forgot to take a picture and post! These were the 1st pictures from my daughter's birthday party. It was a Blue's Clues party and I have even more to scrap. It was so cute. I made the cake from a pattern somehow.

The cuts came from Graphically Speaking and Celebrations. I do not remember what size since it was a bit ago. No stickles this time--gasp! But I did use the Cuttlebug Swiss Dot folder on the word two. The pictures were cute enough for me!

Not sure if I'll get to post anything else this weekend--must clean and cook! Have a blessed Easter!

Birthday Pages

I am so behind on my scrapping, but just love to see these pictures from when my kids were little!

I used Alphalicious for the title and Celebrations for the cakes. I used the shadow feature for both. Those are some Studio G stamps that went great with the theme. I added a white border to the cuts. Don't forget the stickles and skittles!

So 2 more pages down! I hope to really scrap some more this week coming up, but love to make cards right now too.

Have a wonderful Easter weekend everyone!

Happy Easter Card

Here's an Easter card I made for a friend at work. I used Doodlecharms for the basket cut at 3 inches. The grass is from Everday Paper Dolls, cut at 1 1/2 inches (I think) and the tag from George cut at 2 inches. I used double sided TPC Studio paper for the basket and eggs--love when it cooridinates and I don't have to do it myself! the stamps are Studio G. And I stickled everything, of course!
