Jingle all the Way

Hi everyone!  I'm trying to get back to regular posting.  I avoid Black Friday shopping--it just sounds a bit scary out there!  But, I ventured out on Saturday and went to Walmart for some food shopping.  I just had to go to the craft isle (it is near the food now).  I saw one green Expression and some Four legged friends on a hook and a few in a pile on top of the Expression.  At the bottom was a Jolly Holidays!!!  I just had to have it, and luckily I still had some cash I could use.

I LOVE this cartridge!  I have four more designs in my Gyspy I'm going to try to cut out this week.  Plus, I have no Christmas cards except for this one.  And this is Pink.  But my daughter thinks I could send these out if I make a bunch.  We'll see!

Here are the details:
  • Stocking cut from Jolly Holidays at 4 inches
  • My Pink Stamper Christmas Wishes stamp
  • K & Company Paper
  • i Rock Hot Rocks
  • Pink Pen
  • Frosted Lace Stickles
  • Pink Ribbon
Thanks for stopping by!

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #38

Hi everyone!  It sure was hard to go back to work today.  If you look on the sidebar at the top, you'll see that we're having a Fantabulous Cricut Crawl on December 13th--the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge version of a blog hop!  This will be my 1st ever blog hop--I've never been in one--and I'm super excited!!

Today I have my Design Team project.  We needed to use ribbon.  Well, that is so easy for me since I put ribbon on practically everything I make--LOL!  I do have to say that I was not feeling very crafting at the time of creation.

I used my new Your Story Photo to make this recipe book.  I found a package of recipe cards that were never opened and they fit perfectly in one of the 4 x 6 books.  1st, I used the Dvine Swirl Cuttlebug to emboss the cover.  Next. I put the package of recipe cards in and bound it.  (This is so super easy!)  I wrapped white ribbon a few times around and tied a bow.  The cuts are from My Kitchen at 2 inches each. And then I added some stickles!

Make sure to check out the Fantabulous Cricut Blog to see all the designers beautiful projects!

Catch up and Blog Award

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Sorry I've been MIA this week.  It has not been the best around here.  My husband got laid off last Saturday.  Then, we had to say goodbye to our 17 year old dog.  We had her before our kids were born and they've grown up always having her around.  It's been tough around here.

I'm trying to get back in the groove of creating and plus, I have not started making Christmas cards yet!

But, I did receive a blog award from these 3 ladies!!  How nice is that?!

Jen from The Purple Scrapbooker
Libby from Beach Creations
Paula from Rasberry and Lime Designs

Now, this award does come with some rules:

1. Thank and link back to the person who awarded you this
2. Share 8 things about yourself
3. Pay it forward to 8 bloggers that you have recently discovered
4. Contact those bloggers and tell them about their awards

Here are 8 Things about me:

1.  I have 2 children ages 13 & 11.
2.  I LOVE my Cricut and Gypsy.
3.  I'm getting a Mini Cake for Christmas!!
4.  I love to read.
5.  I work full time.
6.  I am very crazy and got my daughter Justin Beiber tickets for December (I need earplugs for the screaming girls!)
7.  My son is now taller than me.
8.  I love hot chocolate with peppermint.

I'll have to pass on the award later.  Be sure to check back Monday for my Fantabulous Cricut Design Team post.  And I hope to have some cards to show you starting on Tuesday from the new Jolly Holidays Cricut Lite cartridge.  I went to Walmart on Saturday afternoon and found one of these and just had to have it!  (I do not do crazy Black Friday)

Your Story Photo -- Mini Album

Hey everyone!  I got my Your Story Photo on Friday and wanted to make something right away.  I think I'm going to love this machine!  Really, the thing that takes the longest is decorating and that's fun when you are not on a deadline :)  This is a gift for someone and I hope she likes it!!

So here's a few pictures.  I used Birthday Bash for the cover and a few cuts inside.  I didn't add too many.  Some of those Birthday Bash cuts have small pieces for the size I needed for the album.  The pictures aren't the best, but by the time I get home now, daylight is gone!

My wish is that we have some great family time together.

If I could wish for something, it would be the Cricut Imagine.  But that is way out of our price range :)

4. How do you make the holidays special without spending any money?

I just try to spend time with the kids and play games and eat cookies with them.  We have so much fun!

5. What games did you play with your family growing up?

We played board games like Life, Monoply and Parchesi.

6. What holiday tradition have you carried on from your own childhood?

I love to get the kids playing board games instead of video games.

7. Where would you go for a Christmas-away-from-home trip?

I would love to go to Walt Disney World for a Christmas trip.

Peachy Keen Mini Challenge

Here's a quick card for the Peachy Keen Mini Challenge.  The challenge was to use white as the main color, polka dots and Peachy Keen Face Stamps.

I used Winter Woodland for the snowflakes cut at 2 3/4 and 2 1/2 inches.  The faces are from peachy Keen Basic Paper Doll Face Assortment.  Snow Adorable is from My Pink Stamper Winter Punnies. I embossed the base with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder.  And I used American Crafts blue ribbon and my iRock!

Super simple :)

Craft Junkie Too Thankful For. . . .

Hi everone!  Today is Craft Junkie Too design team day :)  This week, we were to make a thankful project.  I chose to make a scrapbook page (or 2) of my family since they are what I am most thankful for.

We just had these family pictures made in September for our church directory.  Here are all the supplies I used:
  • Family cut at 3 3/4 inches from Gypsy Wanderings
  • Flower cut at 3 1/2 inches from Walk in My Garden
  • Tree cut at 5 inches from Paper Pups
  • KI Memories Family Time paper
  • i Rock Glam Rocks
  • White pen
  • Pop Dots
Fun and easy!  Now, head on over to Craft Junkie Too to see the wonderful projects the rest of the Design Team came up with.

What are you thankful for? :)

Good Luck Card

This card was my 1st commision!!  A professor who works in my department knows I make cards and requested a good luck card for a student who is going to be in a national pagent.  I was super nervous, I've never had a card request before!

Here are the details:
  • Tiara from Hannah Montana Cartridge cut 3 times at 3 inches
  • Shiny mirrored paper from The Paper Company for top layer of tiara
  • Coredinations Gemstones White Glove paper for other 2 layers
  • Coredinations Core Couture Blue Diamond paper for bottom layer (click to see it sparkles)
  • Die Cuts with a View for 2nd blue layer
  • Martha Stewart Loopy Edge punch set
  • Good Luck Stamp--not sure of maker
  • Silver embossing powder
  • Silver cording
  • Pop Dots for between layers
  • iRock Gems on the tiara
I have not stamped and embossing a long time and I just love the look!  But, I embossed after I put the cording on and it heated it and made it thin.  So I had to replace part of it.  So be careful!  The above picture shows the dimension of the tiara a bit of the bottom glittery paper.  I adhered the bottom tiara cut to the paper with Zip Dry Glue--that stuff is great!

The card was a hit--Yay!

Quick card

I am team manager for my son's soccer team (again).  Today was our last game and I really put off making cards for both coaches.  I had about 15 minutes this morning, and I made 2 of these.

I used Winter Woodland for the thanks cut at 2 3/4 inches, the spots and dots cuttlebug folder and some soccer ribbon.  Oh, and I pop dotted the thanks on.  No bling! For one thing, I really didn't have time (LOL) and plus, I don't think they would appreciate it :)

Hope you are having a wonderful day!

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge

Hi everyone!  You might remeber that I am now on the Design Team at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog.  I haven't had my 1st post there yet (it's next Monday), but wanted to tell everyone to go over and play along.  They have wonderful prizes and a fun challenge every week!

The challenge this week is to use a circle and the color green.  What better cartridge to use that Smiley Cards :)  All the cuts for this card came from that cartridge. Here are the details:
  • Card base cut at 5 inches
  • Party Smiley and pieces cut at 4 inches
  • Envelope cut at 5 3/4 inches
  • Pattern cirlce cut at 4 1/2 inches
  • My Pink Stamper Everyday Life stamp
  • Fruit Punch and Frosted Lace Stickles
  • i Rock gems
  • pop dots
To cover the hole in the envelope, I used some clear plastic that a embossing folder came in.  I'm still hoping they come out with an online booklet for this cartridge, at least.  I had to re-cut the cheeks in pink since I had done those cuts in green.

Two Challenges, One Card

Hi everyone!  There are so many great challenges right now and I've been wanting to do them all :)  I just received my 3 Birds cartridge in the mail last night and wanted to do a challenge with it.  So I started out with the Peachy Keen Challenge and realized I could also use it for the Cricut Circle Blog Challenge.  The Peachy Keen Challenge was a sketch challenge and the weekly Circle Blog challenge was to use a bird, some kind of stitching, and of course, Cricut cuts.

Here are the details:
  • 3 Birds Cartridge--Flower bird and all parts cut at 3 inches and flower cut at 1 inch
  • My Pink Stamper Tweety Hoo Puns stamp
  • Fruit Punch, Yellow, and Light Blue Stickles
  • White Signo pen for stitching
  • Pink i Rock gem in middle of flower
  • EK Success edge punch
  • Blue self-adhesive ribon
  • Pop dots
This is such a cute cartridge!!

Saturday Smiles on Sunday

I thought I would start making something from the new Smiles cartridge every Saturday.  Well, yesterday we had 2 soccer games, and we actally have one more today.  I was so tired, that I fell asleep very early!  But I thought I would just post it today anyhow.

This is the guitar from the last button on the last row.  I thought I would go in reverse.  Here are the details:
  • Guitar, shadow and parts cut at 4 inches
  • You Rock! from My Pink Stamper Friends and Family set
  • Swirly Pattern Paper
  • Lilac Twine from The Twinery
  • Black, Pink and Red Stickles
There doesn't seem to be a glasses cut for this so I filled in with the black stickles.  And I added the twine for strings for the guitar.  This is such a cute cartridge!

Disney's Tangled Movie

Hi everyone!

Sorry, I don't have anything crafty to show you today.  Wednesday just seems to be a family night lately, we have dinner and then just hang out together.  And last night, we got to see the Disney movie Tangled advance screening!!  I had won tickets from our local mall on Facebook.

This movie is so much fun!!  It has singing, action, adventure, you name it.  I had 8 tickets so my son brought a friend and my daughter was able to invite her friend with her sister and mom.  So I had two 13 yr old boys, two 11 yr old girls, a 6 yr old and 3 adults.  I was worried that the boys wouldn't care for it but they loved it too.  And there was nothing that scared the 6 yr old--she was dancing at the end.

This movie releases on November 24 and is a must see!

I hope to have something crafty for you tomorrow.  I'm thinking of starting Saturday Smiles and work through the images on the Smiley cartridge :)

Craft Junkie Too Fall is in the Air

Hi everyone!  This week for Craft Junkie Too, we were to make something that can hang.  Well, that is one of my favorite things to do right now!

I went with a Thanksgiving theme.  I took the picuture on my desk where the light is better, but this will hang on a wall.  Here are the supplies and then I'll talk a little about how it went together after.
  • Pumpkin, Turkey and leaves from Create a Critter cut at 10 inches, 6 inches and 2 inches
  • Happy Thanksgiving from Wild Card cut at 13 inches
  • Orange and Frosted Lace Stickles
  • White pen
  • Orange ribbon on back to hang
There's really not a lot of supplies to make this.   I had to go buy brown paper to make this, but only bought 8 1/2 x 11.  The the pumpkin took up most of the 12 inch mat!  So I cut the base out in kraft cardstock and then put the brown smaller sheet in the middle so it would cut the stem.  Then I cut the top orange out 2 times to make it more sturdy.

I pop dotted the Turkey and Happy Thanksgiving.  There's orange stickles on one of the turkey's feathers and then just some on the the red leaves.

Don't forget to head over to Craft Junkie Too to see the rest of the design teams great projects!!

A Smiley Banana

I took the day off since my kids didn't have school so I could sleep in a little.  That just hasn't been happening on weekends either with all the 9 am games.

So I was able to cut out this card and envelope from the Smiley Cards Cartridge this morning.  Everything is from Smiley Cards.  The card and envelope were cut at 5 1/2 inches.  I think the card needs to be a bit smaller to fit in the envelope though :)  But that is the biggest size I could cut the envelope on a 12 x 12 mat.

The banana and all it's parts was cut at 4 inches. I did not know what the little parts were for, so cut them all in the same color.  There was one that was the tounge, but it was the same color at the lips, so I just added pink stickles for that instead.

I finished it off with gold stickles for the eyes, a little ribbon and inking, and a My Pink Stamper Punny-licious stamp.
