My Creative Time Throwback Thursday

I made this card for Emma's Throwback Thursday at My Creative Time.  The challenge this week is Wild Card with your favorite holiday.  I made a New Year's Card--not because it's my favorite, but because I can use it in a swap I'm in :-)

I cut everything at 5 inches (I think, my Gypsy ran out of juice).  I even made the matching envelope.  The card paper is Mica that I don't have much of.  It's wonderful paper!  I used the D'vine Swirl Cuttlebug folder and black stickles to pop out the features on the envelope.

I have lots more projects in the works, but have family coming in town Sunday for only a day and 1/2.  But I hope to get some more done when my Gypsy is finished charging!

  4. This is a great card! The embossing really make this card shnazzy. :) And I also like the excuse to add stickles. Sparkles are fun and why not add it to some bubbly?
Wondering what Mica paper is... can you explain it to me? When your family is gone, that is. Have fun with them and enjoy your memories!

  6. Mica is thick cardstock. It is very nice and this paper is a bit sparkly -- you just cant tell in the picture. I won some for Okie, her link is at the top of my blogs I love. She has a big post about it somewhere on her blog about it. I actually could get the card to want to stay closed, it's that thick! I put a paper clip on the very end of it and that's why the envelope is covering it just a bit. The envelope is just thin cardstock so I could fold it better.

    Thanks everyone!
