A Christmas Puppy

Hi everyone!  I will probably have one or two more Thanksgiving posts, but this week, I've started on some cards for Christmas.

This cute die cut is from A Puppy for Christmas from Too Cute by Jessica.  There are several cute puppies to cut out from this fun file.

Supplies used:

  • Wreath Puppy from A Puppy for Christmas, Too Cute by Jessica
  • Candy Cane Trendy Twine
  • Stamp from Happy Celebrations, Craftin Desert Divas
  • Jillibean Soup Christmas Eve Chowder 6x6 paper
  • Signo White Pen
  • Cranberry Stickles
  • heat set gems
  • pop dots
I picked this Christmas paper because I had the brown puppy on it and I do like the contrast.  Not my usual Christmas card :)

Have a fabulous day!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi everyone!  I have another Thanksgiving card for you today.  I think I am now ready to work on some Christmas cards soon.  I really need to if I'm going to give any out this year :)

This will be a picture heavy post.  I took pictures along the way of assembling this die cut from Too Cute by Jessica Happy Thanksgiving Kids Turkey.  I love her files.  This one has several little cuts so I thought it might be helpful to some if you would like to put this one together.

1.  This is a picture of all the parts on my work space.  Yes, those tiny black dots go on the turkey for the eyes.  I am very impressed that my Cricut Explore cut them out!  I started at the bottom with the turkey feet.

2.  The feathers don't go on all stacked.  They line up with the outside in different levels. This is the back layer and I decided to do some faux stitching on all these layers.

3.  Here is the second layer.  It doesn't look even, but I matched it up with the outside feathers and it fits.

4.  Here you can see the last feather layer.  It matches the part of the base you can see in the above picture. (these are not the best pictures as my work space in not the best place to take them)

5.  This is what I think the turkey should look like with the neck.  This is not glued down--I was laying these pieces out where I wanted to place them since I wanted to glue down the neck and 'hands' first.

6. Here's where I glued down the neck, 'hands' and pieces above the legs.

7.  Here is the turkey almost done with the head and body on.  Since there were several layers between the body and the base, I used thin pop dots for it so it just looks even with the rest of the layers.

And here's my close up of the completed turkey girl on my card.  I think she is so cute!  I finished off my card with some yummy Chocolate Truffle Trendy Twine and some home made enamel dots. The stamp is from Craftin Desert Divas Happy Celebrations set.

I hope you go over to Too Cute by Jessica and check out all her files.  There is a sale going on and be sure to check out the retiring section--they are included in the sale too!

Count Your Blessings

Hello everyone!  Today I have a fall owl card--yes, I really do love owls right now :)  This owl is the pumpkin owl from Too Cute by Jessica Autumn Owls file.  I was asked to be on their DT last week and I am so excited!

In the file, the pumpkin is in the middle of the owl, but I decided to place it next to her.  The feathers are tiny (and my Explore cut them all!), but they really make it look great.  I used my white pen to add the whites of the eyes and some dots on the bow.  There are also stickles on the feathers, the middle of the bow, and the green parts of the pumpkin.

Here is everything I used:

  • Too Cute by Jessica Autumn Owls
  • DCWV
  • My Pink Stamper Faithful Sayings stamp
  • Rich Cocoa Memento Ink
  • American Crafts Ribbon
  • Frosted Lace Stickles
  • White Signo Pen
  • Doodlebug Sequins
  • Pop dots
 Have a fabulous day!

Trendy Twine Post Day with Halloween Goody Bag

Hi everyone! It's my turn to post over at Twine It Up! with Trendy Twine.  Today I have a super quick treat bag that you can make for some last minute Halloween Treats.  I used the fabulous Spooktacular Trendy Twine on my project today

My daughter was disappointed that she wasn't going Trick or Treating this year (she is 15 so I don't feel too bad).  I said that we would get some Halloween candy at the store.  I decided to make a goody bag for her to make it more fun.

I used just cut a piece of cardstock to fit my bag, tied the twine around the top with a bow, added my Nerdy Ghost cutting file from SVG Cutting Files with a pop dot, and then the sentiment next to it.  So quick and easy!

For some reason, the mouth on the ghost cut separately on my Explore, so I just drew it in.  And she has nerdy teeth, but I didn't want to add them for my daughter.

This bag is not from the store, but there are plenty of fun bags and boxes over there, along with all that yummy twine, that will help you make lots of treats to give away.

The challenge this month is now over, but make sure to stop back next week to see what the next one is!

I am entering this treat bag into the SVG Cutting Files Blog Challenge -- Let's Make a Treat!

Have a fabulous day!!
