Snowmen Treats

Hello everyone!!  I hope you all are well.  It's been a busy December so far and next week is even busier--I have something just about everyday next week and that's after work!

Here are some snowman treat holders I made a few weeks ago and am just now blogging :)  The top one I made at Archivers for a make and they had.  They sent the directions home and I made a few additions.

The directions do show to use a snowflake embossing folder, but they did not use that in the store.  And they had a square punch for the hat and another punch for the nose.  The holly is a Martha Stewart punch which I did purchase.  It also has you have that flap in the front.  On mine, I made the flap be on the inside.

I did use the Snowflake Cuttlebug folder on this.  And I cut the square and rectangle for the hat, and the carrot nose on my Cricut.  I don't remember the dimensions.  But I think it's in my Gypsy still.  If you'd like the sizes, leave a message and I'll try to get them for you :)

It looked a bit plain to me so I added some fabulous Christmas Candy Cane Trendy Twine, faux stitching, and some Frosted Lace Stickles.  Here they are side by side. I do like the one I made at home better :)

I didn't take a side shot, but you take a small clear bag, add some candy and tape it to the inside before you close the top. My hope was to make a bunch of these to pass out at work, but I don't think I will get as many done as I planned.  Have a great weekend!!

Trendy Twine Thanksgiving Frame

Hello everyone!!  It's my turn to post on the Trendy Twine Blog today.  Be sure to head over there and check out all the fun project the Design Team posts throughout the week and I have an extra close up picture of my project too :)  We are featuring the fabulous Orange Truffle Trendy Twine this month and it's on sale!

Today, I decorated a frame I had laying around.  I had been very interested in the idea of making it like a white board as I've seen on Pinterest.  I don't have the best handwriting on this one, but it wipes of great and I might make a thanks board on Thursday.  That way, everyone can write something they are thankful for!

I had thought (briefly) about covering the entire front with twine, but did not want to use up my whole spool! A little at a time, I used a strip of glue and tried to make a straight line around the frame.  It turned out pretty good I think.

There's still plenty of time to join our challenge this month.  Just click here to see the guidelines and to link up your own project. We really do love to see the fun ways everyone uses Trendy Twine!  And make sure to check out the store on Friday.  There may be some fun sales for you  to take advantage of :)

Oh and I have a winner from the Birthday Celebration Surprise Hop we had on Saturday in honor of Lesley :)  Random.org picked number 9 -- Dawn from Designs that Delight!  Congrats!!  I will try to send you an email today but you can contact me with the link on the right.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!

Trendy Twine Birthday Celebration Day 2!

Hello Everyone and Welcome to Trendy Twine's Birthday Celebration Weekend.

As you know Yesterday was Lesley's Birthday and tomorrow is her Mom's Birthday, so some of "US" her Awesome Design Team has made her Mom a card to make her Birthday Celebration Complete.

Now if you're here from Candi at Chaos-n-Crafts then you're in the right direction, but if you're just passing through you may want to start at the Trendy Twine Blog because you don't want to miss out on the Blog Candy.

Here is what I made for Lesley's Mom:

I was having a bit of a creative block when making this card.  I went a bit simple with some Echo Park pattern paper (it's double sided with the dots on one side and stripes on the other).  The stamp is from Close to My Heart and the stars from Teresa Collins.  Since the card design is a bit simple, it does show off the fabulous In the Navy Trendy Twine.  This is just a beautiful color combination.

Next up on the hop is Jamie from JamieK711 Designs.

Now to be eligible for the Blog Candy:
"Like" the Trendy Twine Facebook Page
Be a Trendy Twine Blog Follower
"Like" the Jaded Blossom Facebook Page
Leave a Comment on Each Blog Hop Participant

If you can't wait to see if you have won, and I know I usually can't,
visit our Trendy Twine Store to purchase some Twine and check out the awesome Sales that we have going on.

BTW, don't forget the challenge that is going on right now over at Trendy Twine.  You have until the end of the month to link up your project.

Trendy Twine Birthday Celebration!

Hi everyone!

As you may know by now, today is Lesley's, creator of the Fabulous Trendy Twine, birthday!!!  We, the design team decided to have a celebration hop in honor of Lesley.  We just hopped onto the bottom of her post to honor her mother's birthday which is on Monday :)  So if you just came from Candi at Chaos -n- Crafts, you are right on track.  If you just stopped by my blog, you should head over to the Trendy Twine blog and see the fabulous guest designer cards for Lesley's mom and then hop along with us.

Here's my card I made and sent to Lesley.  I hope it got there in time!  We all chose a different Trendy Twine color and I picked Grape Fizz.

Sorry this isn't the best picture, but I had to get it in the mail and there is no daylight when I get home from work :)  The kitty is from Create a Critter at 3 inches and I used a Cuttlebug folder and a My Pink Stamper stamp.  I used that yummy Grape Fizz Twine to make a yarn ball for the kitty.  It's stuck to a pop up glue dot to keep it round.

Your next stop on the hop is Jessi with Kissin' Krafts.  I do have a small giveaway for you today--Some fun fall embellishments!  Just leave one comment with a way for me to reach you.  The winner will be chosen on Tuesday night and posted on Wednesday, during my designer post.

Have fun on the hop and be sure to wish Lesley and her mom a very happy birthday over on the Trendy Twine Blog!!  And make sure to visit Annie's Paper Boutique to see what's on sale -- maybe you should make a wish list for the Holidays to pass on to your loved ones :)

More Leaf Boxes

Hi everyone!  I showed a box with a leaf on it the other day for my Trendy Twine project.  Well, I had cut enough leaves to make a total of 8.  I decided to make 2 more today for two challenges that are out there :)

I used different paper for the box this time and embossed the leaves with the Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes folder.  The box is still from the Close to My Heart Artiste Cartridge and I still used the fabulous Orange Truffle Trendy Twine.

The brown paper did not really like to be embossed.  I had to toss a leaf that ripped.  And this paper did not want to stay down on the top of the box as well as the Bazzill did.  But I like that it has a pattern.

I am entering the box in the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge and The Cuttlebug Spot.

Thank You cards

Hi everyone!  Today I have two thank you cards.  They are both similar in that I used the same paper, stamps and embellishments.   They were very quick to make with some fabulous S.E.I. goodies I got in the mail last week, a Close to My Heart Stamp, heat set gems, and some yummy Lemon Tart Trendy Twine :)

November Trendy Twine Challenge -- Many Thanks

Hello everyone!!  It's time for the November Trendy Twine Challenge--Many Thanks, a Thanksgiving or Thank you project.  And we are showcasing the Orange Truffle Trendy Twine which happens to be on sale this month.

I decided to make these cute little boxes for Thanksgiving treats.  Thanksgiving is at my house, but this year that means I need to clear away my craft things for a few days since I have taken over the dining room.  I just don't think Thanksgiving would be the same if we don't sit down at the table all together :)

Here are the details:

  • Orange Truffle Trendy Twine
  • Box and leaf from Close to My Heart Artiste Cartridge cut at 4 1/2 inches
  • Bazzill paper
  • Signo white pen
  • Scotch quick dry glue
There is not much needed to put these together!  You actually glue one small strip and close it off by tying the  twine through holes at the top that you can't see since that fabulous leaf is on top!

We would love for you to play along with us this month!  Here are the rules of the challenge:

Create a project for someone that you are thankful for.
Must have an Autumn theme,
the color brown,
stitching (faux or real),
and Trendy Twine.

*If you do not have Trendy Twine,
use hemp, jute, or embroidery thread only*

Deadline is Friday, November 30th.

Project must be new for the challenge.
No back linking.
Only one entry, please.
Must include all items for the challenge.
Projects not qualified will be unlinked.
(Including the wrong twine)

Prize: $10 Coupon to Annie's Paper Boutique
(does not include shipping/sales tax)

I can't wait to see what you create!!  Please be sure to visit the Trendy Twine blog to see all the Design Team's fabulous projects!

Better Together

Hello everyone!!  Just wanted to pop in with a card you may have seen before.  This was published in the October 2012 Cricut Magazine and I can now post it again since October is over.  The card was cut from the Close to My Heart Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge and the leaves were from Everyday Paper Dolls.  That fabulous leaf paper is from Imaginisce.

This was a favorite card of mine and I can't wait to get it back :)

Have a great day!!!

Halloween Tag

Hello everyone!  I can't believe it's Halloween tomorrow!!  It's also a big birthday in this house, but we don't want to talk about that :)

I just have a really quick tag for you today.  I think it would be cute as the front of a card or just put some magnets on the back for the fridge.

I cut the tag from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More and the rest of the images are stamps from My Thoughts Exactly (pumpkin, eyes) and Close to My Heart (bats).  There's DCWV paper, Teresa Collins accents (orange tulle ribbon, self-stick gems) and stickles.  I finished it off with some fabulous Gray Licorice Trendy Twine that I used on the border :)

Have a great day!!

My 1st Publication Project

Hi everyone!!  You might remember that I mentioned that I was published in the July Cricut Magazine.  I just got my project back today, which reminded me I could post it (probably could have a month ago)!

It's a small card, so I was very surprised that it was picked up :)

I sent this to them back in January!  Have a great day--I hope to do some creating in the next 3 days since I'm off :)

Hello Kitty Halloween

Hi everyone!!  I made these cards last week, but just never got decent pictures until yesterday.   I seem to be having issues getting good pictures indoors right now.  Probably because it's getting darker earlier.  But it was such a beautiful day outside yesterday and my outdoor pictures are actually coming out better right now :)

I made three of these Hello Kitty cards.  One was for someone at work for her niece.  At 1st it was only going to be two, so I could have one extra, but then I remembered that someone else I know loves her and then it turned into 3.  But at least I saved the cuts on my Gypsy so it was easy to do the 3rd.

This 1st one is on an Action Wobble.  The other is just on with pop dots.

Details:

The 'paw prints' cutouts were so super tiny that I just could not get them to cut over well at all.  So I just used the orange stickles for the 'prints' and also the small parts of the bow.  The small yellow nose did cut out ok, but I love to add stickles to the nose anyhow :)

It had seemed cute, but even better when I added the white faux stitching all around.  And I LOVE the Orangesicle Trendy Twine--it is so pretty!!

Well, I also finished another coffin treat box this week too so hope to have that posted tomorrow.  Have a great rest of the weekend!!

Happy Pumpkin

Hello everyone!  Here's a card I originally made for a DT post but I'm really not that fond of it.  There's just something bothering me about it.  But the pumpkin is cute and from Create a Critter 2.  The sentiment is from  the Fright Night Friends set by My Thoughts Exactly.

It shows the awesome Orange Licorice Trendy Twine which we are featuring over at Twine It Up! with Trendy Twine this month :)

Bat Card

Hi everyone!  I have a really quick card for you today.  I made the front part of the card at a swarm I was at 2 weeks ago.  Missie Todd provided a Make and Take for us and supplied all the materials from Close to My Heart for the front.  I added the pattern paper and purple mats from the Moonlight Close to My Heart paper pack.

It made for a quick, fun card!

I hope you all have a great weekend--I am so very glad it's Friday :)

Happy Halloween

Hi everyone!  Today is my post day over at Twine It Up! with Trendy Twine.  I made a super easy card to show you :)

The star of the card is the Orange Licorice Trendy Twine that the design team is featuring this month.  The paper and stamps are all from the Close to My Heart Spellbound kit.  My post from yesterday shows the party from the kit.  There's still more fun paper left to play with too :)

I also added pop dots and some Frosted Lace Stickles to the bat.  Just a quick, easy card!

Please be sure to visit the Trendy Twine blog to see the design team's projects this month.  And we would really love for you to play along with the challenge this month.  It's so fun to see you what you all create and you could win a fun prize!!

Have a great day!

Close to My Heart Cricut Party

Hi everyone!

I have been working off and on for a week on the Close to My Heart Cricut Spellbound Halloween Party Kit.   This has been so much fun!  The kit comes with everything you need to make a banner, 8 party favor bag/boxes, 8 cupcake wraps and toppers, and 8 drink wraps except for ink, glue and anything extra you want to add. This is a very picture heavy post :)

This is an overview picture.  The sun decided to go behind some clouds so it's not the best.  Directions in the kit say to embellish as desired, so I did :)

And here is a picture of the banner.  The kit comes with orange and white twine from Close to my heart.  But I did not like the way it looked with the black.  So I used my Trendy Twine instead.  This banner has the Orange Licorice Twine that is orange and black--goes perfectly with the banner colors!  I also added Frosted Lace Stickles around the starbursts under the boo; orange marker stitching around the owl circles and colored in some of the owls; white marker accents on the letters.  If you click the picture, you can see more up close and the whole banner :)

Here are 2 of the 8 treat bags/boxes.  The directions call for you to use the same orange twine that the kit comes with for both.  But I did not like the orange/white with the gray bag.  So I used Gray Licorice Trendy Twine and it looks so much better! Then I used the same Orange Licorice Trendy Twine from the banner for the orange bag. I added stickles and orange iRock gems to the orange bag and white pen accents and clear iRock gems to the gray.  All stamps shown come with the kit--a full set of stamps!

Here's one of the bottle wraps.  The only thing I added was a matching twine bow.

And here are the cupcake wrappers and toppers.  I pop dotted the bat on, but other than that, nothing was added.  I love the pins that go in the cupcakes.  And yes, I made cupcakes just so I could show off the holders :)  My daughter said I could probably have found something fake to take the picture with, but where is the fun in that?!

You can order this wonderful kit through me--just click on the Close to My Heart link to order yourself, or send me an email and you can get a discount!  There is still paper left over and I will have a card up with some of that extra pattern paperfor my Trendy Twine monthly post tomorrow :)
