Flower Challenge
Hi everyone! I have been working outside my comfort zone lately a lot. This time, I colored--haven't really done that in a long time. And I don't have Copics (not in my price range) but I used some Aqua Markers from Letraset.
This is a free image from Unity for a Coloring contest they are having over on Facebook. I have no thoughts that I would even win, but wanted to at least stretch myself and enter.
I used some glittery purple paper for the background. And I added all those tiny pearls to the netting -- they are from Close to My Heart. I used almost the whole sheet! To finish it off, I did add some Frosted Lace Stickles in spots--didn't want to overwhelm and I pop dotted the top layer on top of the ribbon.
The color is not as good on this close up, but I wanted to show the details a bit more.
This was an image that we downloaded so I printed several. As I was coloring my second try (can't cut straight!), my 14 year old daughter was asking me about my markers, and then said she kinda wanted to color one herself. So she sat down with me, picked out her markers, paper, ribbon and pearls (I choose mine after hers--she inspired me!) and made her own card! I wanted to show it off here.
I think s she did a great job! This does look a bit better in person, the color seems off, but I did take the pictures after the sun went down.
Thanks for stopping by--have a fabulous day!!

Just a Note
Hi everyone!
Here's a quick card for you today. I used My Creative Time's new File folder die--it is so cute!! I also wanted to enter it into the 3 Girl Jam Anything Goes with Ribbon challenge. I don't have any of the fabulous 3 Girl Jam Ribbon, but I hope to some day :)
The ribbon is American Crafts and the Stamp is also from My Creative Time. I've actually been making quite a few cards with some new techniques I've never tried (some good, some not so good). But I am going to try to enter most of them for a magazine call. And if I don't enter them, they are not that good!
Have a great day!

Sting Like a Bee--Trendy Twine's Bumblebee Release
Hello everyone! So glad you are hopping with us today for the release of the newest Trendy Twine, Bumblebee! Today only you can purchase this fabulous twine for $8.00 (goes back to $9 on Friday).
If you have just come from the fabulous Kate, you are on track. But if you just stopped by my blog, be sure to head over to Twine It Up! with Trendy Twine so you don't miss a thing :) Plus, we have two new Design Team members that started today. Be sure to leave some welcome love on Brigit's and Candace's blogs--we are so happy to have such talented ladies on the team!
I made some Bumblebee Trendy Twine buttons for this card--you just tie a small knot on the end and push that into the middle of a 3D dot and then wind your way out. I really do love to make these :) Then I decided that the top of the antenna needed twine too. But they were too small for pom poms. So I just put a dab of glue and carefully swirled the twine on. It may have taken a few tries :)
Now, you know there is a fun prize for one lucky person. Be sure to comment on all the blogs in the hop for your chance to win Love Stings from Jaded Blossom. It goes along so well with our bee theme today :) You have until 11:59pm CT Friday the 5th to leave your comments.
Your next stop on the hop is the wonderful Sukie. Here is the line up in case you get lost:
Thanks so much for hopping with us today. Be sure to get your entries in, buy your Bumblebee Trendy Twine while it's on sale today, and stop back often to see all the fun things you can do with Trendy Twine!

Baby Shower
Hi everyone! My sister-in-law just adopted a baby girl which makes me an Aunt!! I am so excited :) She found out very last minute though she was already here when we were able to have a shower for her. So I had about a week to make some things.
I love to make diaper cakes and this time, I found a new way to make it. Instead of rolling the diapers, you put line them up in a cake pan. It was perfect and way quicker and easier. I really put this together in about 30 minutes. This is also the 1st time I didn't use any cut outs on one. I bought the washcloths from her registry to fan out on the cake and a cute giraffe teether (she has a girl jungle theme) for the top.
Next, I love to give out favors. So I made 26 My Creative Time Treat Slider boxes. Now, this seemed like a really great idea until it came to die cutting all the candy wraps. But I really wanted to make them properly so I somehow managed to get them all done. The assemble very quickly and then I decided to use the small ticket die for my stamped message. And to finish it off, I used my Tickled Pink Trendy Twine.
I just love those candy boxes! But now I need some new Cuttlebug plates as mine are pretty worn out :)
