Treats for you

Hi everyone!

It's my turn to post over at Trendy Twine today.  To be honest, I had a hard time coming up with something to make!  I've spent the last few days getting things ready for a baby shower that happened yesterday at work.  It just wiped all the creativity out of me for the week, I think :)

First I  made a cute treat box cut from my Cricut.  I added some fun bows and outlined it in the Lemon Tart Twine.  Next, I grabbed a tin bucket and glued some Twine around the bottom, added some fun bows and and tag.  Fast, simple gifts to give out!

Now, I hope you play along with our challenge this month.  You can find the details of what to use HERE.  Then you should be sure to visit Annie's Paper Boutique to see all the great deals going on this month!

Lots of Easter Wishes

Hi everyone!  I hope you have had a great week!  I have been making treat boxes and other goodies all week to give out.  Here are pictures of my boxes that I sent in with my daughter to give to her teachers.

All dies are from My Creative Time and I used my favorite Trendy Twine :)  I'll list the name of the twine under the pictures.

This treat box uses Blue Berry Trendy Twine and also is being entered in My Creative Time's  Tic, Tac, Toe  Designer's challenge.  I used pattern paper, twine and bling!

Here's a shot of all of them together.  I did not get a great picture of the yellow one in the back but it uses Lemon Tart Trendy Twine.

I think my favorite is the blue with the bunny and then the purple flowers.  It's amazing that I am able to give them away :)

Oh, and I wanted to mention a great sale on Trendy Twine--you can get 3 spools for $21!  It's for a limited time so don't miss out :)

Special Easter Wishes

Hi everyone!  I have another Treat Slider box to show you :)  And I need to make a bunch this weekend.  I think they would be perfect for my daughter's Sunday School teachers and since they won't have class on Easter, I need to get them done for this Sunday.

I used some fabulous Tickled Pink Trendy Twine and Jillibean Soup patterned paper.  Everything else is from My Creative Time:  Treat Slider Box Die, Stitched Fun Ticket Dies, and To My Best Peep set (stamp and die).  I really wanted a cute pom pom tail so I just wrapped some twine around my finger and made it that way.  Thank goodness for gluing one side down though--they are always not even for me!

Have a fabulous day!!

Twine Egg(s)--maybe

Hi everyone!  I thought I would share my attempt at twine eggs that I did over the weekend and some things that I learned.

I first tried my hand at this a few weeks ago and it was an epic fail.  I did not take a picture of that mess though :)  The day after my attempt, My Craft Channel had a video about this very same craft.  So I did learn a few things and decided to try again.  I mean, I have all this wonderful Trendy Twine that would just make some beautiful eggs!

Here is my 1st which looks like an egg--sort of.  I used a regular size balloon and only blew it up part way and was able to get the egg  shape.  However, I did not use enough Watermelon Taffy Trendy Twine on this one--it's a little bare.

This next one, I used a small water balloon.  I could not get that in an egg shape at all.  I also did not cut enough Pink Limeade Trendy Twine for this one, but just grabbed some more and continued wrapping.  This one looks so much better but is round.

Steps/Tips:
  • I used Scotch Quick Dry glue watered down.  However, I used too much water and the mixture was very drippy.
  • After my 1st fail, the twine stuck to the balloon and caved in with it.  It was a mess!  So the video said to use Modge Podge or you need to grease it up somehow, so I sprayed both with Pam :)
  • The egg shape is not very sturdy.  I put the twine on as it came out of the glue--very wet.  I had to have a cup under it to catch all the drips it was so wet.
  • The ball shape is much stiffer.  I was running the twine between my fingers to get some of the glue mixture off before putting it on the balloon.  And there was hardly a drip coming off it while drying.
  • The next morning, I wanted to take the balloon out.  I started with the egg and the twine was sticking!!  Ugg.  I so very carefully separated the twine from the balloon.  Still, when I popped it, a few strands stuck but I was able to reshape since it is so soft.
  • When I was checking to see if the round ball was sticking, the balloon popped and nothing stuck! Yay!
I do want to try again and make a few egg shapes before next weekend.  Plus, I love the Watermelon Taffy Twine and think these would be so cute for a table decoration.

So, lessons learned:  Grease up the balloon and do not use a ton of glue/water!

Please leave a link in the comments if you've make any of these--I'd love to see them!!

A Cup of Love

Hi everyone!  This is a late post for me today, but I saw a one-day challenge over at The Alley Way Stamps Facebook page and just had to join in. I don't own any of their stamps, yet :), but they have a few digital freebies you can download.

I don't know that I am the best with digital stamps though--this is just a simple card I threw together to join in the fun.

I also used a new heart Cuttlebug folder that includes that strip at the bottom.  And I used some fabulous Watermelon Taffy Trendy Twine.   It's finished off with some Frosted Lace Stickles and self-stick gems from Close to My Heart.

Not my best work--I need some better markers and learn how to color better :)

Have a great week!!
