On the eyes, I used a white Signo pen and the on the hat, I used a fine tip pen to add some dots and dashes.  There are also white stickles on the spoon, tiny berries and cheeks.

A Trendy Thanksgiving Wish

Hello everyone!  Some of the Trendy Twine DT made some projects to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!!  Please be sure to head over to Twine It Up! with Trendy Twine to see all of our thankful projects.

Today, I made a Thanksgiving hat shaped card for you.  I used Orange Truffle Trendy Twine, the twine of the month, because it just went perfectly on my card.

I used the Thanksgiving hat from Cricut Celebrate with a Flourish cartridge.  On my Explore, I flipped one of the images added the shadow image in and hid all my other layers. **Before you hide everything and add a 2nd shadow layer, be sure to make your cut the size of the card you want. This was about 4 1/4- 1/2 inches tall.**  Then I copied the shadow shape, and then made a horizontal mirror image of one side. Next, I moved the together on one of the swirls to make it in the card shape. I then selected all (both shadows) and attached.  Then you can un-hide your layers so they will all cut.

I did think after the fact that I could have added a score line, but it folded very well and even for me. The finished card size is about 4 1/2 inches tall by 5 inches wide.  So it would need a square envelope.

The Orange Truffle Trendy Twine is glued on the swirls (I love swirls)--it did not take long at all to do this.  The I tied a double bow to add to the brim :)

I hope you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving!!

Trendy Twine Thanksgiving Treats

Hi everyone!  I'm posting over at Twine It Up! with Trendy Twine today showing these Thanksgiving treats you can set at your table.  I used Orange Truffle Trendy Twine and Mini Candy Cubes from Annie's Paper Boutique.

I filled my box with some Hershey Kisses and then wrapped the Orange Truffle Trendy Twine around the cube and finished that off with a bow.  The cute Thanksgiving squirrel is from Cricut Create A Critter 2 cartridge.  He is about 2 1/2 inches tall.  I added a twine bow tie to him and some Black Diamond Stickles to his tail.  It's on the box with some pop dots.

I think these would be really cute to have at every place setting at the dinner table.  If you don't have the boxes on hand now, be sure to pick some up and you can make something like this with a Christmas theme :)

Be sure to join the Twine It Up! with Trendy Twine Facebook Page to share your Trendy Twine creations!

Have a great day!

Angel Bear Christmas

Hi everyone!

Another Christmas card up today before I go back to some Fall stuff next week.

This bear is from the Too Cute by Jessica Christmas Dress Up Bears files.  I just love the this angel so started with this cut.

I added some star sequins and some pretty ribbon to finish it off.  The wings are velum and I am very pleased to say that my Cricut Explore was able to cut them.

I hope you have a great weekend!!

A Christmas Puppy

Hi everyone!  I will probably have one or two more Thanksgiving posts, but this week, I've started on some cards for Christmas.

This cute die cut is from A Puppy for Christmas from Too Cute by Jessica.  There are several cute puppies to cut out from this fun file.

Supplies used:

  • Wreath Puppy from A Puppy for Christmas, Too Cute by Jessica
  • Candy Cane Trendy Twine
  • Stamp from Happy Celebrations, Craftin Desert Divas
  • Jillibean Soup Christmas Eve Chowder 6x6 paper
  • Signo White Pen
  • Cranberry Stickles
  • heat set gems
  • pop dots
I picked this Christmas paper because I had the brown puppy on it and I do like the contrast.  Not my usual Christmas card :)

Have a fabulous day!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi everyone!  I have another Thanksgiving card for you today.  I think I am now ready to work on some Christmas cards soon.  I really need to if I'm going to give any out this year :)

This will be a picture heavy post.  I took pictures along the way of assembling this die cut from Too Cute by Jessica Happy Thanksgiving Kids Turkey.  I love her files.  This one has several little cuts so I thought it might be helpful to some if you would like to put this one together.

1.  This is a picture of all the parts on my work space.  Yes, those tiny black dots go on the turkey for the eyes.  I am very impressed that my Cricut Explore cut them out!  I started at the bottom with the turkey feet.

2.  The feathers don't go on all stacked.  They line up with the outside in different levels. This is the back layer and I decided to do some faux stitching on all these layers.

3.  Here is the second layer.  It doesn't look even, but I matched it up with the outside feathers and it fits.

4.  Here you can see the last feather layer.  It matches the part of the base you can see in the above picture. (these are not the best pictures as my work space in not the best place to take them)

5.  This is what I think the turkey should look like with the neck.  This is not glued down--I was laying these pieces out where I wanted to place them since I wanted to glue down the neck and 'hands' first.

6. Here's where I glued down the neck, 'hands' and pieces above the legs.

7.  Here is the turkey almost done with the head and body on.  Since there were several layers between the body and the base, I used thin pop dots for it so it just looks even with the rest of the layers.

And here's my close up of the completed turkey girl on my card.  I think she is so cute!  I finished off my card with some yummy Chocolate Truffle Trendy Twine and some home made enamel dots. The stamp is from Craftin Desert Divas Happy Celebrations set.

I hope you go over to Too Cute by Jessica and check out all her files.  There is a sale going on and be sure to check out the retiring section--they are included in the sale too!

Count Your Blessings

Hello everyone!  Today I have a fall owl card--yes, I really do love owls right now :)  This owl is the pumpkin owl from Too Cute by Jessica Autumn Owls file.  I was asked to be on their DT last week and I am so excited!

In the file, the pumpkin is in the middle of the owl, but I decided to place it next to her.  The feathers are tiny (and my Explore cut them all!), but they really make it look great.  I used my white pen to add the whites of the eyes and some dots on the bow.  There are also stickles on the feathers, the middle of the bow, and the green parts of the pumpkin.

Here is everything I used:

  • Too Cute by Jessica Autumn Owls
  • DCWV
  • My Pink Stamper Faithful Sayings stamp
  • Rich Cocoa Memento Ink
  • American Crafts Ribbon
  • Frosted Lace Stickles
  • White Signo Pen
  • Doodlebug Sequins
  • Pop dots
 Have a fabulous day!
