Color Gelatos!!

Hi everyone!  I did have some time last night to play with the Design Memory Crafts Color Gelatos and Clear Stamp Set and it was super fun!!  I love these!

I took all 4 colors from the set and rubbed them in a rainbow-like pattern.  Then I used the brush it comes with and blended the colors.  I don't think you can see it very well, but they have a beautiful sparkle to them!  Then I played around with the stamp that came with them to try to use the Gelatos to stamp with.  I rubbed the darker pink right on the stamp and tried, but that didn't work very well.  Then I added some water to it and still no go.  While it was still wet I added more color but it was not working either.  So I cleaned the stamp and tried again by just added the color and it stamped pretty good!  I think it was just a little damp, but I'm not sure.  It's just something to play around with to see what works for you :)  Here's a close up of the stamp.  I also used the Gelato on the edge around the stamp paper.

Don't forget to leave a comment on THIS POST for your chance to win a set of your own!!  The chances look very good right now since 2 winners will be drawn :)  And visit http://www.designmemorycraft.com/  to see some projects by their design team and where you buy them for yourself!

This is such a fun set and I think I need all the other colors too :)

Mix & Match Mixed Media Sampler and Color Gelatos & Clear Stamp kit

Hi everyone!!  I was contacted by Design Memory Craft and asked if I wanted to try out the Mix & Match Mixed Media Sample and Colors Gelatos, post about it, and give away 2 sets to my followers.  That sounded like a ton of fun to me :)

Here's a bit of info on the products:
Mix & Match from Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft makes designing with color simple. Choose a color set that inspires you. Choose a medium. Mix & Match as you create. Color coordinated palettes give you the freedom to design your project knowing the colors will work beautifully together. Perfect for all your design, memory and craft projects.

Mixed Media Sampler Sets in Red, Yellow, Blue and Green encourage you to spread your creative wings and experiment with mixing mediums!  Each set includes a Stamper’s Big Brush, Gelato Metallic Stick, Pastel Pencil and Art GRIP Aquarelle Watercolor pencil.  Experiment with mixing colors and mediums or layer different mediums to create depth and details.  Or try using your rubber stamps with the different mediums to see which effects you like the most.

Color Gelatos are creamy sticks infused with brilliant color.  The color slides easily onto papers and can then be dissolved with water to create watercolor effects, or left to dry for vibrant bursts of color.  Try stamping with the Color Gelatos, or apply a field of color and use a stamp to remove the color.  Color Gelatos work wonderfully on flocked papers and embellishments too!  Color Gelatos are acid-free and odorless.

Everything I used on my card is from the Mix & Match Sampler.  I also have the Color Gelatos and Clear Stamp Kit which I hope to show a sample of tomorrow.   For this card, I used the Gelato to rub over the embossed card stock.  Next, I stamped the image and then used the Art Grip pencil to color the icing and the Pitt Pastel to color the 'flame'.  I used a brush and made it a bit watercolored.  Next was the Artist pen which I used to go over the dots on the cake.  Then I finished it off with the Big Brush Pen to make the stitching and the Gelato again on the edges for some more color.  I'm not sure you can see all that with the picture.  It's not super fancy, but I haven't always been great with coloring images.  The picture to the right shows the different pens/pencils in the Samper kit.  The Gelato is at the bottom--I couldn't write with that one.

I think my favorite item are the Gelatos, but need to get the hang of it better.  You should be able to stamp with them, but it didn't quite work for me.  I think I need to try a different stamp.   And I think I'd love to get the blues sets :)

I'm sure a lot of you can do some awesome things with these products!!  Design Memory Crafts is letting me give away a Mix & Match Mixed Media Sampler and Color Gelatos & Clear Stamp kit to two winners!!  So just leave one comment and a way for me to get in touch with you.  I will draw two winners next Wednesday.

Check back tomorrow for a post on the Gelatos--I'm going to play some more tonight and see if I can showcase them a bit better for you :)  Also, you can visit http://www.designmemorycraft.com/ to see their blog and how to purchase these products for yourself.

I do love the product--the pencils are high quality and the markers just wonderful.  And you can do so much with the Gelatos, I just have to practice a bit more :)  I am just thrilled that I was picked to try it out!!

**Note:  I was supplied with free product from Design Memory Crafts, but the opinions are my own.

Mother's Day Blog Hop

Welcome to our Mother's Day blog hop. We are making some great projects that will hopefully inspire you to make some beautiful crafts for whomever you cherish on Mother's Day. If you came here from Meighen's blog then you are in the right place. If not start at the beginning at Jamie's blog for all the wonderful projects lined up for you today.

I made a box, card and tag for you all from the Cricut Wrap It Up Cartridge.  Here are the details:
  • Card cut at 5 inches; flower on top cut at 2 inches
  • Box cut at 9 1/2 inches
  • Tag cut at 4 inches
  • My Pink Stamper Happiest Moments stamp on tag
  • Stickles
  • Ribbon
My intention was to use the Happy Mother's Day from this button on the cartridge for the top of the card.  Well, it needed to be about 2 inches for this size card and it just would not cut out!!  I think it would be really cute and will have to try it with a bigger card cut before Mother's day.  I tend to go for easy projects here :)

I hope you like what I made, even though it's not too fancy.  I do have some blog candy for you!  It's a Cosmo Crickeet lacing card kit, 2 Making Memories alpha stickers and a Making Memories Glitter Bling Thank You sticker set.  Just be sure to leave one comment and a way for me to get in touch with you if you are the winner.  I will pick a winner on Wednesday.

Here's the entire line up in case you missed one:
Jamie
Rhonda
Kristen
Court
Sonya
Mari
Kim
Tiffany
Lisa
Meighen
Helen
Liz
Jennifer
Tere
Rebecca
Shawnee

Now the next stop on the hop is Liz's Blog.  Have fun and please stop by again!!

Where to get treat bags and Another layout

Hi everyone!!  I've had several questions about the M&M bags.  I actually went in with a few people on the Cricut Messageboard but I think they were bought at clearbags.com.  You can search for 1 x 8 inch bags to find them faster, but they have a ton of fun things there.  I just checked the other day and saw some fun clear boxes I want to get :)

Here's one more layout I made this week.  All the cuts were from Simply Charmed but I'm not sure of the sizes right now.  The paper was from DCWV and I used stickles, or course and pop dots!  There's a bit of shine due to the foil on the paper.

I've been invited to join a Mother's Day Blog Hop tomorrow so please check back and join in the fun!! I should have some fun blog hop candy too :)

Birthday Layout

Hi everyone!

Here's a quick girlie birthday layout that I made this week.  I've always been an 8 1/2 x 11 inch scrapbooker but have decided that I need to be 12 x 12 so that's what I've been making lately.  But they are definitely harder to photograph!

Here are the details:
  • Celebrate with a Flourish cartridge:  present & balloon 4 inches; Happy Birthday -- can't remember :)
  • DCWV stack patterned paper
  • Stickles
  • American Crafts ribbon
  • Signo White pen
I did hand 'stitching around the whole page and the picture mat.  This was fun to make!

My Pink Stamper Design Team Day

Hi everyone!!  Today is My Pink Stamper Day--one of my favorite days :)  I truly love all her stamps and hope that everyone else does too!

Today theme is favors of any kind!  I choose to make some M & M sticks for Easter since it's this Sunday.

Here are the details:
  • My Pink Stamper More Faithful Sayings stamps
  • Crosses cut at 2 1/4 and 3 1/2 inches from Easter 2010
  • Holder cut at 11 inches from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More
  • Dvine Swirl Cuttlebug folder
  • Lavender Stickles
  • Twine from The Twinery
  • Pop Dots
  • treat bags
These are so easy to make but take a little bit of time to feed all the candy in them!  I decided to punch a hole in my cut and tie them on, but they do have a peel and stick closure.  I just liked the look with the twine.  Then I outlined the crosses with the stickles.  And I've used the Dvine Swirl Cuttlebug folder on the holder--what can I say, it's my favorite!

So I've hit over 800 followers--wow!  I have a small blog prize today--I've had 2 others in the last week so am running a bit low from my stash :)  I have a Polka Dot Cuttlebug Folder (this is one of the bigger ones) and 2 of my favorite colors of stickles--Cotton Candy and Lavender.

Just leave one comment and a way for me to get in touch with you if you win!  I will draw a winner on Friday night.

Now, make sure to visit My Pink Stamper to see all the designer's amazing favors.  And while you are there, you can see all the retailers that sell these amazing stamps so you can get your own :)

Hi everyone!  The theme for Challenge Me Monday over at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge is Do the Bunny Hop!  That's right--Easter is right around the corner so you need to add a bunny (or a chick if you want) to your project this week.

I made a hopping bunny card for you.  Here are the details:
  • Bunny cut at 3 1/2 inches from Easter 2010
  • Stamp from My Pink Stamper Happiest Moments set
  • DCWV Dots, Stripes and Plaids stack
  • Action Wobble
  • EK Success Edge Punch
  • American Crafts ribbon
  • I Rock
I used an Action Wobble on the bunny and it wobbles like the bunny is hopping :)  I also added some pink marker for the ears.

I hope you stop by the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog to see all the Design Team's amazing projects!  And don't forgot to join in and link your own bunny or chick creation!!

And the winner from the Spring Fling Cricut Crawl last week is:

Snail Mail!

Hi everyone!  Today I have a card from Nate's ABCs.  I won this from Scrapbook Pal for putting their blinkie on my sidebar.  I got to pick my own cartridge!  I've ordered from them before too and they have super fast, free shipping for over $25!  I think they have some pretty good prices too.

This is such a fun cartridge!  And you don't have to use it just for boys--I turned my snail pink :)

Here are the details:
  • Snail cut at 3 inches
  • My Pink Stamper More Punnylicious stamp
  • Dvine Swirl Cuttlebug folder
  • Cotton Candy and Glam Pink Stickles
  • Signo White pen
  • American Crafts ribbon
  • pop dots
The snail had a cut for the eye--it was super tiny!!  I didn't even try that--LOL!  I love how the snail is looking up at the butterfly.

I'm going to be working on some DT work and some submissions (hopefully) but I do hope to squeeze in some extra for here :)

Disney Scrapbook Page

Hi everyone!  I pulled out my pictures for some scrapping this past weekend.  I so need to do this more often so you should be seeing some more pages around here :)

I am years behind but really want to work on our Disney book from September.  This is a page I started a while ago and just finished on Monday.

Here are the details on this really easy page:
  • Title cut from Mickey Font cartridge at 1 inch
  • Sword cut from Happily Ever After at 5 inches
  • Shiny paper is from Theresa Collins
  • Helmar Scrap Dots
I think I did not finish the page because I needed a sword and just had to buy Happily Ever After -- LOL! And I used the Scrap Dots to pop up the sword on the page.  I actually have letters cut for another Disney page so I'll see if I can get that one made this week too.

Don't foret that we have a Pinka-licious blog hop Friday night!!  I'm going to have a giveaway too :)

April Showers at Fantabulous Cricut

Hi everone!  This week's challenge theme at Fantabulous Cricut is April Showers.  You need to use an umbrella or hat on your project.  The April Shower's cartridge has a lot of really cute cuts on it and includes an umbrella.  I love this cartridge because things are so easy to put together!

Here are the details:
  • Umbrella from April Showers cut at
  • Stamp from My Pink Stamper Fabulous Phrases set
  •  DCWV the Celebration Stack patterned paper
  • Helmar Scrap Dots
  • Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive
  • EK Success edge punch
  • American Crafts ribbon
  • Glam Pink Stickles
I have recently discovered the Helmar adhesives and love them!  The Scrap Dots is so fun to work with, and the Quick Dry Adhesive is liquid but does not leave any bumps.  I used the Scrap Dots to pop up the umbrella.

Make sure to visit the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog to see the designers awesome projects and to play along yourself!!

Just Because

Hi everyone!  I made this card thinking I was going to enter it in a challenge.  But I forgot that it's a new challenge and this card does not fit it!

I actually made this card with cuts I found in a bucket on my desk.  So I have no idea what the size of the cuts are.  I do know the ladybug is from Doodlecharms since it's one of my favorite cuts!!

The stamp is from My Pink Stamper Fabulous Phrases set--one of my favorites right now :)  I added green iRock gems to the middles of the flowers and used Cotton Candy Stickles for the edges.  And that is a Martha Stewart Around the Page punch set that I cut out the other day too.

I did keep creating after this one, but some is for DT work so will have to wait :)
